Academic Performance

Background

The statistics for this report were gathered by the author from the Linwood cluster of schools during the first half of 2006. The Linwood cluster of schools comprises Linwood College, Linwood Intermediate, Linwood Avenue, Linwood North and Bromley Primary schools.

Introduction

It can be argued that the most fundamental skill a student needs to perform academically is the ability to read. It can also be argued that if a student is behind their National cohort in reading they will have difficulty in making similar progress to their National peers.
